Modern Gurukul at ChataraDham Sunsari

A new chapter in Vedic and modern education began in Nepal with the grand inauguration of the “Modern Gurukul at ChataraDham Sunsari” on Sunday, 10 May 2026. The inauguration ceremony of Jagadguru Shree Ramanandacharya Gurukul was held at Barahchhetra, ChataraDham, Sunsari, Nepal, in the presence of distinguished guests, government officials, spiritual leaders, security officials, local representatives, and devotees from different parts of the country.

The event was organized under the leadership of Jagadguru Shree Ramandacharya Sewapeeth (Shreeram Tarak Brahma Peeth) with the guiding vision of “Modern Education with Ancient Wisdom.”

The chief guest of the inauguration ceremony was Hon. Bhim Parajuli, Minister of the Government of Koshi Province, Ministry of Tourism, Forests and Environment, Biratnagar, Nepal. The event was also attended by the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sunsari District, social activist Kumar Khatiwoda, Tika Prasad Khatiwoda, the local Ward President of Ward No. 5, representatives of the Nepal Government, Armed Police Force personnel, local residents, invited guests, and devotees.

The Gurukul is being established under the spiritual guidance of Jagadguru Mahayogi Siddha Baba, also known as Jagadguru Shree Ramanandacharya Swami Shree Ramakrishnacharya Ji Maharaj and lovingly called “Gurudev” by his devotees. Siddhababa belongs to the enlightened lineage of the Ramanandi Shree Vaishnav tradition and is recognized as a Tridanda Dhari Sadhu, master of scriptures, Kundalini, and Yog.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the organizers highlighted the importance of preserving Sanatan traditions while embracing the modern education system. The Gurukul aims to provide students with a balanced education that combines Vedic teachings, discipline, Sanskrit values, and advanced technological learning.

One of the major attractions of the newly inaugurated Gurukul is its modern educational infrastructure. The institution features interactive smart boards, English language classes, and the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Vedic education. Organizers stated that students will have opportunities to learn traditional scriptures and yogic knowledge alongside modern technological advancements, enabling them to adapt confidently to the changing global educational environment.

The concept of integrating AI and digital learning into Gurukul education was widely appreciated by attendees, who described the initiative as a progressive step toward creating spiritually grounded yet technologically capable future generations.

This Gurukul has been established with the objective of integrating Vedic Sanatan values, modern quality education, and spiritual life philosophy. The institution will provide education from Grade 6 to Grade 12 through the English medium. Alongside this, students will receive education in Yoga, Meditation, Vedas, Grammar, Culture, Sanskar, and disciplined Gurukul lifestyle for their holistic development.

Located in the sacred land of ChataraDham, the Gurukul is expected to become a center for spiritual learning, character building, yogic practice, and innovative education in Nepal.
