Inauguration of Newly Constructed Building by Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki
Speaking at the event, IGP Karki highlighted that physical infrastructure plays a vital role in enhancing the overall capacity of the Nepal Police.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dan Bahadur Karki inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Women, Children, and Senior Citizen Service Center within the premises of the District Police Office, Parsa, during a program held on Wednesday. On the same occasion, he also inspected the newly built structure.
During the program, IGP Karki also presented appreciation certificates to various individuals who contributed to the construction of the building.
Speaking at the event, IGP Karki highlighted that physical infrastructure plays a vital role in enhancing the overall capacity of the Nepal Police. He praised the supportive role played by UNOPS in infrastructure development and expressed confidence that the newly constructed building would further strengthen the relationship between service seekers and the police.

He noted that with the operation of this specialized building, access to justice for women, children, and senior citizens has become more convenient. He also emphasized that the services delivered from the building should be fast, technology-friendly, impartial, and transparent.
IGP Karki further stated that women, children, and senior citizens are highly sensitive groups, and therefore police personnel must also remain equally sensitive while providing services, security, assistance, and addressing their concerns. Highlighting the need for collective efforts and cooperation in building a civilized and safe society, he added that public support, cooperation, and goodwill continue to motivate and energize the police force.
Chief District Officer of Parsa, Bhola Dahal, delivered a congratulatory remark at the program.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Gobinda Thapaliya, Chief of the Madhesh Province Police Office, delivered a vote of thanks. Similarly, UNOPS Operations Coordinator and retired Senior Superintendent of Police Indra Neupane delivered the welcome address, while UNOPS Senior Engineer Shishir Upadhyay presented the construction report.

The building was constructed with the support of UNOPS at a total cost of NPR 2 crore 1 lakh 74 thousand 4 hundred 6 and 5 paisa.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, heads of security agencies in the district, chiefs of various government offices, representatives of political parties, representatives of different organizations, local social workers, respected citizens, journalists, and local residents.
