The Himalayas are ours, and they are extremely beautiful. The life and identity of Nepalis are closely tied to these magnificent mountains. Around the world, Nepalis are recognized as people of the Himalayan nation. Globally, there are 20 mountains above 8,000 meters, and among them, 14 are in Nepal. This news article focuses on the contribution of Pastemba Sherpa, who has guided climbers from around the world to the summits of these towering peaks.

Pastemba Sherpa is a person who has saved the lives of climbers who reached the brink of death on mountains higher than eight thousand meters, and who has successfully rescued mountaineers from difficult and dangerous situations.

In his early days, he carried loads to the mountains with his village friends, believing he would earn money. On his first trip carrying heavy loads, he slipped on ice and fell, crying as he struggled to lift and carry the load again to reach Makalu Base Camp. At that time, he had never imagined that in the future he would become a rescue man—risking his own life in the snowy peaks to save hundreds of climbers.

However, his hard work, dedication, determination, and his childhood and teenage years spent in the lap of the mountains filled every vein of his body with the spirit of the Himalayas.

He has successfully summited Sagarmatha three times, Makalu once, and Manaslu three times. He has also climbed peaks such as Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche East dozens of times. In addition, he has helped many foreign and Nepali climbers fulfill their dream of summiting Sagarmatha.

Having completed all the fundamental mountaineering training and specialized mountain rescue training, Pastemba Sherpa is committed to protecting the Himalayas and inspiring Nepalis to preserve their identity and dignity as people of the mountain nation, providing a strong and meaningful foundation for future generations.
