Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki Inaugurates Newly Constructed Building Rupandehi, Nepal
The welcome speech was delivered by UNOPS Operation Coordinator and retired Senior Superintendent of Police Indra Neupane. On the same occasion, UNOPS Senior Engineer Shishir Upadhyay presented the construction report.
Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki inaugurated the newly constructed office building of the Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Service Center located premises of the Area Police Office, Butwal, amid a program held on Wednesday.
During the event, IGP Karki presented certificates of appreciation to various individuals who contributed to the construction of the building.
On the occasion, IGP Karki highlighted that despite limited resources, the sense of responsibility toward citizens, along with their immense support and cooperation, has always motivated the police to work more responsibly. He stated that the newly constructed building has created an important foundation for delivering services to women, children, and senior citizens in a more effective, sensitive, and result-oriented manner.
He further mentioned that the new facility will help ensure easier and safer access for citizens to police services. He also instructed all police personnel present to bring positive changes in their communication and working style to deliver effective police services in line with public expectations. He also noted that the Government of the United Kingdom has been supporting Nepal Police for a long time through various projects aimed at capacity building, infrastructure development, training, and strengthening coordination and collaboration with communities.

At the program, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Khel Raj Pandey and Rupandehi Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Pokharel delivered their best wishes remarks.
Lumbini Province Police Office Chief, Deputy Inspector General Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri delivered the vote of thanks. The building was constructed with financial support from the UK Government at a total cost of NPR 24,143,753.12. ( Approx USD 162,108.99 )
The inauguration ceremony was attended by chiefs of district security agencies, heads of various government offices, representatives of political parties, leaders and representatives of different organizations, local social workers, intellectuals, media personnel, and local residents.
