Guru Travels Successfully Concludes its Fourth Annual General Meeting

Guru Travels Limited, Nepal’s first public limited travel company, successfully held its Fourth Annual General Meeting on 9 January , 2026 at the Thamel-based Thamel Eco Resort Hotel in Kathmandu. The event was organized in a grand manner under the chairmanship of the company’s Chairman, Mr. Bigyan Raj Sharma, and was attended by founding shareholders, renowned personalities from the tourism sector, and distinguished guests.

The meeting was formally inaugurated by Chairman Mr. Bigyan Raj Sharma along with senior advisor and shareholder Mr. Laxmi Gurung, who jointly lit the ceremonial lamp. The program officially commenced at 5:00 PM and was moderated by Chief Operating Officer Mr. Anil Dharel.

Following the welcome address by the Chairman, Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nabaraj Dharel presented the annual report. In his report, he highlighted the company’s satisfactory progress since its establishment and expressed a strong commitment to delivering even higher-quality services in the future. Subsequently, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Anil Dharel delivered a detailed presentation outlining the various activities carried out by the office over the year.

Guru Travels has also achieved global recognition by receiving an award from the world-renowned company TripAdvisor, placing the company within the top 10% worldwide. To date, the company has reached several significant milestones, including NPR 1.5 crore+ capital, over 2,000 corporate served, 13,000+ people traveled, 100+ homestays, 330,000+ memberships, 50,000+ registered users, 30+ team strength, and more than 1,000 days of continuous service milestones.

During the meeting, the auditor’s report for the fiscal year 2081/82 was presented. Proposals for the appointment of an auditor for the fiscal year 2082/83 and determination of their remuneration were also tabled and unanimously approved by the shareholders.

One of the major highlights of the program was the presentation of the “Excellence in Travel Industry Award,” which honored shareholders and customers who made outstanding contributions to the company’s business growth and promotion.

The award was presented to shareholders Basanta Prasad Bhusal, Ram Mohan Maharjan, Govinda Prasad Sharma, Sudip Khadka, and Ram Krishna Shrestha. From the customers’ side, the award recipients included Mekh Gurung, Maheshwor Shrestha, Muna Veterinary Hospital Pvt. Ltd., Expert Education & Visa Service Nepal Pvt. Ltd., and Green Lion Educational Travel Company Pvt. Ltd.

At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Uttam Tripathi recited a poem, adding a cultural touch to the event. Following the formal closing of the meeting, a dinner was hosted for all participants. This grand gathering further highlighted Guru Travels Limited’s growth, commitment, and forward-looking vision for the future of Nepal’s tourism industry.
